Implementation of Spatial Correlated Log-Normal Fading (for on-the-fly computation)

Project description:

Within this student project a module for the generation of spatial correlated log-normal fading (also referred to as slow fading or long-term fading) shall be implemented with the aid of MATLAB® and/or OMNET++. The overall project objective is to create a programme code which is able to create a spatial correlated log-normal fading in order to be computable with a usual PC setup. The student(s) is/are allowed decide to compute the values for the shadowing either "on the fly" or by pre-generated fading maps as long as the criterion "computability" will be satisfied.

In general such fading maps are used for simulations of cellular networks like UMTS or LTE, respectively. However, this student project is related to a research project on mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) which leads to the necessity of considering the mobility of both the source and the sink of a communication link.

Finally, the understanding from the literature research as well as the implementation in pseudo code have to be documented in a project report.

This project is applicable for both B.Eng. and M.Sc. students within the prevailing project phases.
