Configuration Management Solutions in the automotive industry are characterized by huge numbers of requirements and change issues, often relevant not only for one single project, but for a whole product family. To meet these challenges, a powerful integration of various processes and tools(e.g. RE, ChM, Reuse, Architecture…) between all stakeholders has to be established. Within this presentation, the interface between the OEM and TIER1 supplier in automotive industry is investigated and selected best practice solutions are shown. Standards like RIF and ASAM for automated information exchange are evaluated and their benefits and limitations are being discussed. Finally, the application of modern SOA architectures for integrating different tools and processes on OEM and TIER1 side are being presented.
